OPEN ELECTIVES can be courses from ANYWHERE in the Institute  including home department or College.

GENERAL EDUCATION ELECTIVES can ONLY be ANY course from the College of Science or the College of Liberal Arts.

Ê See Course Catalog for liberal arts requirements. Freshman students who feel qualified may register for an additional Liberal Arts course in the first quarter in order to allow room in the
Second year to select an elective of their choice or to take a reduced load.

* Can substitute Engineering Calculus I, II and III for Algebra and Trig,, Calc. for Technologists I and Data Analysis if student's background is applicable.

# See Course Catalog for policy on physical education.

Û Students may substitute University Physics for College Physics. Consult advisor. Once a student completes College Physics they may not take and  apply University Physics to their BS credit hour
requirements.

# Co-op experiences may be scheduled during the school year as well, but this may disrupt normal course schedule.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING ELECTIVES:

MINORS and AREAS of Concentration: Students may select from a wide variety  of minors and electives available in the Institute. While minors and  other elective courses offered by the College of Science or the College of  Liberal Arts can be fitted into the Open Electives OR the General
Education  electives areas listed above, MINORS and ELECTIVES FROM OTHER than those  Colleges can only be fitted into the OPEN ELECTIVES requirements in the listing of degree requirements above.
